"IF this world is to be more like the one God wants it to be, it’s up to us. IF peace and justice and kindness and decency are to reign, we must use every moment, every skill, every nickel, every opportunity to make that happen."  - Andy Ruhlin (Sr. Warden, 2001)

Believing that stewardship is the Christian caring for the gifts of time, talent, and treasure that God has given us; we joyfully and prayerfully return to God as first fruits an intentional proportion of our money ‑‑ recognizing the Biblical tithe as a standard to strive for ‑‑ and commit our available time and talents to do God's work in our daily lives.

Emmanuel has a rich tradition of stewardship -- giving generously of time, talent and treasure as is evidenced throughout our common life.  Opportunities for stewardship abound at Emmanuel:  the annual Every Member Canvass provides for support of the church's daily operating costs, the Behold Capital Campaign made it possible to fully finance a 7,000 sq. ft. building addition and renovation of existing space to provide for the education and ministry of future generations, numerous volunteer ministries offer ways to give of our time and talent, and our Environmental Stewardship Committee helps us learn how to be good stewards of the abundant gifts of God's creation.
