A hundred years from now... ... the faithful will gather at Emmanuel church. some things may not have changed. Light will stream through many of the same windows, someone will carry the same brass cross, and water will flow over the same rock in the Memorial Garden. Children will squirm and parents will shush them. People of all ages will whisper prayers and sing hymns, hear the word of God proclaimed and keep the Eucharist fest.
There will be different people though. None of us will be there and few of our names will be remembered. Still, almost miraculously, some of us will have a presence at that service, a giving presence.
The Emmanuel Church Foundation was created in 1972 to provide, hold, and manage permanent resources for Emmanuel Church. Only income is given to the church, and only to Emmanuel Church. The capital may not be paid out or impaired in any way. So the gifts, large or small, that we make to the Foundation today will be producing an important part of the future congregation's budget.
Your gift to Emmanuel Church Foundation will still be working and helping a hundred years from now - and more. A gift to the Foundation in any amount may be made by sending a check, payable to the Emmanuel Church Foundation, to the parish office, with a note indicating a gift in thanksgiving or in whose honor or memory it is made. Gifts may also be made through your will.
"Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine: Glory to him from generation to generation in the Church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever."
